Incorrect Disk Space Stats
« on: December 12, 2009, 06:13:59 PM »
Hi,
I've been getting incorrect disk space usage stats  in my cpanel. It shows 4801.91/7000 MB used on the main page whereas on the "Disk Space Usage" page it shows the correct figure, 1895.84 Meg. This happened after some downtime I experienced couple of days ago when the forum wasn't available either. It looks like the disk quota or whatever keeps track of disk space isn't refreshing properly.
Could you kindly take a look at it.

Anyone? Mods? Admin?

It looks like we had a system reboot or unexpected downtime the past couple of days. I've noticed it when I found out that my Rails website was derailed and fell offline on the web. Unfortunately, I only had a spare time to put back my site to normal operation and wasn't able to take care of the entire server itself. I'll try to look at this issue after my office hours today. Please bear with us.

Thank you very much Efil, I apologize for my previous outburst, I have a flare for the dramatics :).

Efil, its been two weeks since my request, could you please look into this?

I looked into your problem, but I couldn't find a solution. For over an hour I kept on searching for clues. Let Efil look into the problem., may be we need to contact server support / cPanel support.

However, your account usage is over 3GB, not 1895.84 Meg as you said before. Have you checked the "/z/"  directory in your account, it is more almost 3Gb, is it ok?

F4E, thanks for checking it out. I searched around a bit online, sometimes cpanel forgets to update free space after file deletion. There were a number of solutions but all require admin access. Yeah, "/z/" is fine, I'm within my quota there, but still it showed more than 6GB occupied last time I checked on my cpanel. I didn't mean to be a pain, I know everyone's busy this being year end an' all. Thanks again.

I'm really so sorry for the delay.  Had some personal matters to attend.
Problem is now fixed after running the cpanel command
Code: [Select]
/scripts/fixquotasthrough ssh.

Your current disk usage is now 1401.63/7000 MB.
Please verify at your end.
