Introduction Thread

Welcome to the Waterseven Community. Please introduce or re-introduce yourself here. If you have questions about this community, you can ask in the appropriate forum. Don't forget to keep the guidelines in mind.

Already introduced yourself here, but want to make an important update? Modify your introduction post and add "Update: [Type your update here.]" You may also edit or delete anything that you posted before and has changed. You may only post a new reply again if your original reply was deleted or if there was some other glitch in the matrix.

The more you tell us about yourself, the more chances you'll be rich and famous. So, here are a few tips:

1. Who are you?
Tell us more than just your name, age, and location.

2. Why do you think you're the best person ever?
How can we distinguish you from a robot?

3. How did you find waterseven?
What made you want to join us?

4. Do not spam.
Don't link us to your websites. Don't use affiliate links. Remember you're not an advertising banner, and in here, we want to get to know you.

5. Ready? Post a reply to this topic.

Important: This thread is only for introductions. You may not post "Welcome, [insert name of new member]!" or "That was the best intro ever" or "I think I have a crush on [insert name of new member]." Everyone is welcomed equally. We have crushes on all of you. We think every single introduction is amazing. (If it isn't, I can always delete it and ask you to re-do it.)

  • If you have questions for a specific member, please contact them directly. (If you want to be contacted by others, fill out your information in your profile or tell us about it in your introduction.)
  • If there's something you'd like to ask us all, make a thread about it in the appropriate forum.
  • The best way to make someone feel welcome is by being respectful and helpful whenever possible. - If you really feel like giving the repetitive "welcome to waterseven" line to people, feel free to write it on a piece of paper, scan it, and PM it it to me. I'll post it here if I like it. To reward you for your efforts, you will also be given the unofficial [and temporal] title of "Waterseven Welcoming Committee Dictator."
  • If you want to make a public statement about a specific member or ask a public question to a specific member, you can always make a thread about it (as long as it doesn't break any rules). For example, if I wanted to make a topic about a waterseven member I know quite well, I'd just make a new topic titled, "Rebeca wants to play Dead Space." Or, if I wanted to ask a question publicly to the same member, I'd create a topic called, "Rebeca, do you want to marry me?"
  • Did I miss something else? You get the drill. Don't ask here. This is only for introductions. Anything else will be deleted.

I suppose I should be the first one to re-introduce myself.

As many of you already know, Google first introduced me to WaterSeven. Since then, we've been very happy together.

If you haven't figured out my name by now, you don't know how to read. Congratulations. (I have a few devices for you to test, please contact me.)

If you do know how to read, that means you can also read my profile in which you'll find all my secrets. That's not enough? Don't worry. I have more juicy details for you. YES, I mean it. Here. JUICY details:

1. My current favorite juice is papaya juice. This has happened thanks to a shortage of papayas and my recent discovery of papayas that are so tiny that I stared at them for several minutes, laughing. (You may watch it on my next episode of The Twilight Zone.)

2. The O'Hare airport in Chicago has a juice shop. They use actual fruits in it, or so it seems. We will investigate this further next time we go to the airport.

3. Some Chinese restaurants in Chicago's Chinatown use mangoes from South American countries. My first reaction was to purchase one of these mangoes. I cried when I remembered I didn't have a blender.

Offline Duke Nukem

It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum... I'm all out of gum. The ever famous Duke Nukem has come to Waterseven - again. Ahehehe...

My name is Hamilton and I'm from the Philippines. I've been with Waterseven for quite some time now. I recently had an accident which broke my left arm.

I got this web extension of my small shop, named Haminihams which offers free guides to casual computer users.

That's pretty much it. I'm into rock music by the way.

1. Who are you?
Tell us more than just your name, age, and location.

My name is Cal, and many people would call me Copper or Coppertop.  I wear a hearing aid and I use Duracell batteries... therefore, I got the name from my fraternity back when I was in college. Yes, I'm an old fart now (41) raising 4 children.   My oldest child is my daughter age 21 and in the Air Force.  One son is 17, another daughter 14, and the youngest son at 7.

I reside in Wisconsin, USA and have no plans on moving anytime soon.  Although I have traveled all over the States vacationing here and there.

2. Why do you think you're the best person ever?
How can we distinguish you from a robot?

Some people wanted to know whether I'm a robot, or human.  Well, if it makes you feel any better... go ahead and visit my lame home page site on my signature and judge for yourself.  I enjoy playing games ever since splurging quarters on arcade games back in the early 80's.  Even to this day I play video games whenever the chance allows me to.  I've taken up playing 3rd person shooting games back when Duke Nukem, Quake, Doom, etc. first came out.  Some of my favorites today are Medal Of Honor (still is!!!), Call Of Duty, Unreal Tournament, etc.  I also like playing racing games and Rock Band with my sons on PS2.  I've worked in the Prepress field of Printing for the last 19 years.

Since 1989, I've been a Apple/Mac user.  My first is with the Apple IIcx which had a whopping 16 MHz processor speed!!!  Yes, and that was with 1 mb of ram upgradeable to 128 mb.  Oh, did I mention that this was also nearly $5,000 back then as well.  Moving on... next was the Color Classic, the Quadra's, PowerMac 6200, PowerMac 6500, PowerMac G3, (skipped the G4 series), and now own PowerMac G5.

As a prepress operator, my specialty is working with images, design layouts such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop.  I can do color corrections to images, as well as image manipulations.  I print posters, catalogs, brochures, etc.

If there's anything else you'd like for me to convince you to prove I'm not a robot, give me a holler and we can chat over some drinks!

3. How did you find waterseven?
What made you want to join us?

I found Water Seven through a search looking to find a web hosting service.  I'm sure glad I found this place as I see this not just being a place for free server space but a great community to boot.

Hi, I am new to this as in communities like this but I will try. I live in southern England, 44 male married and two kids. I happen to be disabled as well (although still mobile) and do not work but am willing to do so.

I have a passion for computers and recently the PS3. I also have a passion for forums, I have run many forums and clans as Admin some really large, over 5000 members at its peak to small ones with 30 or so members. I am no PHP expert but I know how to setup, mod, a success forum.

I found this site through Google and my reason for joining was that I had a free hosting account but it was very unreliable with it's server crashing all the time so I thought I would try and get an account here so I could set up a forum for my friends who have a passion for driving (PS3) and I would like us to stick together.

Offline Vee

My name is Vee. I've been here for four months, I think. I'm sixteen. Studying Math/Science department in first year of high school. Two more years and I'll go to university. I'm from Thailand.

I love web designing. I'd love to be a programmer or graphic designer in the future. Depends on how well I can do. I love books. I try to read as much as I can. I watch some tv shows. I can't live without them. I love Grey's Anatomy :D

I have two younger sisters. I'm a big sister, oldest child. I live with my parents. Happy family. I have some good friends. My life is pretty good. All I have to achieve is to get a scholarship to study ICT in university, or get into a university. I'd love to study abroad though. It's all I've dreamed of.

I love English language. I love to be able to communicate with people (today I just helped the taxi driver who drove two foreigners who want to get to the hotel. They got wrong road or something. Anyway, I'm proud of myself.  :P) My English is not perfect (no matter what foreign teachers told me that I had perfect English. Come on!) It's something I'm improving.

I found WaterSeven through freewebhostingtalk. I wanted a host for my new fan site, my first fan site. I can't believe I did it. I made a fan site, and it's still going.  :D

Offline las

Hello everybody, I'm back. And it's time to re-introduce myself again.

This is las from Beijing of China. Male, 27 years old, but still single. When I introduced myself in forums2008, I said I'm single. And now half a year has passed, I'm still single. I'm afraid that one of the most important things now is to find a girlfriend for me. I wish myself good luck. ;D

I'm still in school. My major is information retrieval, which always makes my crazy. I like literature. But I can only understand literature in Chinese and those translated in Chinese. Like everybody else, I also like music and movie.

I've been around here for a long time. My username is so simple that I'm sure most of you can remember me.
At last, thanks all friends here for making the forum such a nice place.
